It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Rick Rutledge (Guthrie, Oklahoma), born in Dallas, Texas, who passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Collie Clarence and Dorothy Jean Rutledge (Talley); and his former wife Bogena Oakes Rutledge. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia; his children, Rick Oakes Rutledge (Aurora), Lauren Fassio (Brent), Laura Hudani (A. K.) and Christy Bell; his grandchildren, Brody, Van, Lachlan, Alexis, Tristan, Teddy and Emersyn; his pets, Daisy, Peanut, Bullwinkle, Flash and Thomas; his sister Colleen Beasley; and his niece Kristina Beasley. He is also survived by seven great-nieces, and two great-nephews.

“I was a student of Mr. Rutledge he was my biology teacher. I only had a handful of male teachers and the rest were female. Mr. Rudgledge was one of my favorite teachers and there's a lot of favorite teachers that I've had. Im saddened to hear he passed away. he was the best! I remember when we got to watch movies after testing I'm pretty sure that was so fun. He made class fun. He will be deeply missed.”

He was a kind friend and I appreciated the invitation to his last birthday party. He loved his wife and children.
