He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Walter and Gladys Walter (Madden); his wife Marilyn Walter (Webb); and his children, Marsha Smith Luster and Eddie Ray Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Smith Hamm and Dusky Smith II; his daughters-in-law, Marsha and Sharon Smith; his grandchildren, Lissa Allen (Brad Hinkle), Diane Wheeler (Mike), Travis Smith, Brooke and Whitney Romine; and his close friend Lela James. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren.
