He was predeceased by: his parents, Letha Thomason and Charley Thomason; his brother Buddy Thomason; and his son Freeman Thomason. He is survived by: his wife Connie Thomason; his daughters, Jennifer Thomason, Brandi Thomason, Lana Rubio (Rudy) and Leah Murray; his granddaughters, Lauren Waters, Rose Waters, Grace Waters, Willa Rubio and Sadie Rubio; and his siblings, J. D. Thomason (Jo), Raymond Thomason (Belinda), LaDonna Sweat and Lila Tillman.
