It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Annette (Birch) Wood of Guthrie, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 1, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, H. E. Birch and Nellie Birch (Kongable) of Guthrie, Oklahoma.; and her former husband Edwin A. Wood of Wynnewood, Oklahoma.. She is survived by: her daughter Bobbi Jan Smith (Neil) of St. Maries; her grandchildren, Kristin Smith Burns (Nate) of St. Maries, Kelly Smith Cox (Jeremiah) of Potlatch, Doug Bird (Shelly) of Colwich, Jeane Lembke (Robert) of Overland Park and Debbie Luckner (Chad) of Clearwater; and her husband Robert E. Thompson. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Joyce and Eddie received a True Friends of the Longhorn Industry Award from the International Texas Longhorn Association for their contribution to the longhorn cattle industry.
