He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Trester and Maxine Trester (Scheer); and his siblings, Ivan, Jerry Trester and Beverly Hoddy.
He is survived by: his wife Tina McDonald; his children, Byron McDonald, Cody Trester (CarolAnn) and Kourtenay Sherwood (Jase); his grandchildren, Kaden Ludwig, Maverick McDonald, Trinity McDonald, Khloe Trester, Hannah Trester and Jaxton Sherwood; and his siblings, Carl, Larry Trester, Judy Burkholder and Sharon Trester. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Memorials in honor of Gary are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or The Foundation for Service Dog Support and may be left with the funeral home or mailed to 1883 U.S. Highway 54, Iola, Kansas 66749.
