He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Compton and Kathryn J. Compton of Gracemont, OK.; his sister Janelle Owings; his parents-in-law, Frank and Anna Kobza; his brother-in-law Johnny Kobza; and his niece Jessica Kobza.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Kobza of Denison, TX; his children, Major Matthew Compton, Laura of Kalispell, MT and Richard of Denison, TX; his grandchildren, Melody and Sean; and his siblings-in-law, Henry Kobza (Cee), Vincent Kobza (Vernetta), Agnes Spiller (Jimmy), Theresa Nault (David) and Frank Kobza. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, two of David's favorite charities were Disabled American Veterans and American Red Cross.
