He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Berends and Leatha Berends (Stinson); his wife Joy Kraus; his brother Todd Berends; his son Dustin (Kaneishia); his grandchildren, Nevaeh and Roper; his siblings, Verlyn, Evelyn (Bill Shephard) of Buffalo and Marty (Nancy Berends) of Chelsea; and also Leatha.
