Mary Hostak Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Hostak of Frederick, Oklahoma, who passed away on November 3, 2021 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George S. Ballard and Clara Ballard (Bridges); her husband James John "Jim" Hostak; her daughter Kyle Anne Sorrels; her grandsons, Dustin Don Day and Sean Clark; and her siblings, Floice, Troice, Leon, Delbert, Clayton Ballard, Maxine Ballard Hudspeth and Patricia Sue Ballard.

She is survived by: her children, Ron Clark (Marilyn) of Guthrie, Craig Don Sorrels of Frederick and Kelly Baber of Erie, Pennsylvania; and her brothers, Doyle Ballard (Patsy) of Frederick and Charles Ballard (Pamela) of Angleton, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

“Mary was a dear friend to me. She was always there to encourage me in my walk with God, and pray with me. Her walk with God was such an inspiration to me. No matter what was going on in her life, she always trusted God. I will miss her very much but I am so glad that I will see her in Heaven because, just like Mary did, I believed in the Lord Jesus Christ who died and rose again to save my soul and the souls of all who will call upon his name. “So sorry to hear of Mary's passing but Mary is now with Jesus and all of her suffering is over. The wonderful thing is that all those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior have the hope of seeing Mary again. Mary truly loved Jesus and would tell others about Him. Mary and I would pray together on the phone and I will certainly miss those times of prayer.
