He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Doris "Dosey" Mathis and James Elbert "Dody" Cole; his sister Carolyn Hidlebaugh; and his brother-in-law Russell "Rusty" Levings. He is survived by: his wife Kay Cole of Frederick, OK; his children, Chance Cole (Megan) of Charleston, SC, Carrie Altman (Alex) of Tucson, AZ and Cassie Panzenbeck (Bobby) of Woodbridge, VA; his grandchildren, Cassidy Altman, Kinley Altman, Lionel Altman, Logan Altman, Robert Panzenbeck IV, Doris Panzenbeck and Vivian Panzenbeck; his sister Claire McCoy (Jason) of Hampton, SC; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Cassidy, Brent Cassidy of Frederick, OK, Carolyn Levings of Oklahoma City, OK and Michele Kinder (Quinton) of Frederick, OK. He is also survived by eight nephews and four nieces; and by seventeen grandnephews and grandnieces.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel (921 W Gladstone Ave, Frederick, OK 73542). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Helen Catholic Church (507 E Highview Ave, Frederick, OK 73542). A graveside service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery (18045 County Rd NS 220, Frederick, OK 73542).
