She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Edward and Essie Idell Hobbs (Haynes); her husband Billy Garvin Murphy; her sons, Jimmy Garrison, Jr. and David Farley; her grandsons, Chad Garrison and Robert Garrison; and her siblings, Juanita Bradfield, Cona Cornman, Alene Black, Johnny Hobbs and Charles Hobbs. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
