It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Smith of Fort Towson, Oklahoma, born in Minco, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Allen and Lela Victoria Smith Savage (Hefner); his stepdaughters, Kim Bakeman and Lorie Dake; his stepgrandchildren, Kaydee Babcock and Brock Dake; and his brother Sammy Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Gail Smith; his children, Shawn Smith (Michelle) of Tuttle, OK and Scarlett Purifoy (Zachary) of Texarkana, AR; his stepson Sam Dake (Gloria) of Foyil, OK; his stepmother Vinola Smith of Midwest City, OK; his half-siblings, Daryl Savage of Oklahoma City, OK and Darlene Emerton of Oklahoma City, OK; and his stepsisters, Vickie Robben of Midwest City, OK, Susan Umber of Yukon, OK and Regetta Gibson of Shawnee, OK. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
