We are sad to announce that on August 9, 2022, at the age of 73, Michael Floyd Backes of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Burnell Backes and Margaret Irene Backes (Ferrell); his siblings, John Backes and Debbie Backes; and his nephew Kent Backes.

He is survived by: his friends, Sam and Happy; his wife Beverly Backes; his children, Kevin Backes (Angel), Teka Stephens (Tim) and Tonya Wesley; his grandchildren, Darick Wesley, Jocelyn, Lillebeth, Brinklee Backes, Leslie Kolmer (Tony), Lauren Stephens, Rileigh Stephens, Markie Carman (Haley) and Cortni Seward (Will); his great grandchildren, Gemma, Henry, Beckham Kolmer, River and Denver Carman; and his siblings, Kevin Backes (Sharon) and Dixie Backes. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
