It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothea Martha Carter (Fort Cobb, Oklahoma), who passed away on March 6, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Lina Pinkau (Fleischer) and Paul Herman Pinkau; her husband David Carter (Switzerland); her brothers, Lothar Paul Pinkau and Ehrenreich Gerd Pinkau; her brother-in-law Siegfried Grohmann; and her son-in-law Gary Smith.
She is survived by: her sister Annelies Ilse Grohmann (Pinkau) of Lichtenau; her sister-in-law Ursula Helga Pinkau of Grosspostwitz, Germany.; her children, Michael Carter (Margaret) of Edmond, OK, Annemarie Smith (Cookie) of Anadarko, OK and Kathryn Elrod (Keith) of Anadarko, OK.; her grandchildren, David Carter (Christina) of Oklahoma City, OK, Megan Rinehart (Levi) of Oklahoma City, OK, Alexander Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Lauren Elrod of Oklahoma City, OK and Eric Elrod of Anadarko, OK.; and her great grandchildren, Benjamin of Oklahoma City, OK., Corie Carter of Oklahoma City, OK. and Carter Rinehart of Oklahoma City, OK..
A year ago she decided to move to an assisted living community and even though the pandemic made it impossible to see her family, she enjoyed making new friends.
