She was predeceased by: her parents, Dallas Alfred King and Vera Veda Pollard King; her daughter Connie Denise; her brothers, Alfred King, Kenny King and Charles Jr. King; and her grandson Chase Donovan.

She is survived by: her husband Charles Dewey Tappan; her children, Veda Marie Campbell, Kelly Diane Underwood and Curtis Dale Tappan; and also, Jimmy Don Tappan and Sherry Ann Wilson.
