He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Sophia Johnson and Harvey Earl Barrett; and his brothers, Jack, Bill and Don.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Goucher; his daughter Paula Godsey (Tim Godsey) of Chapel Hill, NC; his grandson Eric Godsey of Chapel Hill; and his brother Dr. Richard Barrett of Sun City, Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
