In loving memory of Sylva Rhodes of Enid, Oklahoma, who departed this world on March 26, 2025 at the age of 98. Sylva leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Carter (Packard) and Charley Carter; her siblings, Robert Carter and Dortha Woodford; and her granddaughter Kristine Kowalski.
She is survived by: her son Jimmy Kowalski (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Kathleen, Kerrianne and Jonathan; her great grandchildren, Jessica, David, Zachary, Sarah, Michael, Hannah, Cameron, Christopher, Jonathan, Ella, Alexander and Katherine; her great great grandchildren, David, Henry, Mason and Maggie; and her nieces and nephews, Steven Woodford (Brenda), Dennis Woodford, Terry Woodford and Virginia Carter Palmer (Jerry).
Viewing was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lanman Funeral Home - Helena (309 4th St, Helena, OK 73741). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at the Good Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Sylva are encouraged to make a donation to the Oklahoma Historical Society.
