He is survived by: his wife Rachel Tatro; his children, Bobby Mellott (Marnie) of Harper, KS, Carolyn McClaflin (Dallas) of Kingman, KS, Tommy Mellott (Angela) of Springdale, AR, Kim Ryel (Glen) of Enid and Kip Strate (Kris) of Rose Hill, KS; his grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Tim, Kellie, Julie, Tori, Jarrod, Andrea, Gabriella, Daniella, Michelle, Hannah, Shauna, Jesse, Jake, Molly, Shelby and Shanae; and his sister Harriet Ward (Richard) of Chase, KS. He is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.
