He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tobias and Anne Rimer Sontag; his wife Karen Randolph; his son Donald Rex Sontag; and his grandson Daniel Harley Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Smith (Dan) of Enid and Sara Hillis (Henry) of Pasadena, TX; and his great grandchildren, Aidan and Brooke Smith.
