He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Rex and Colleen Rex; his parents-in-law, Cecil and Faye Chartier; and his grandson Taylor Rex.

He is survived by: his wife Verna Chartier Rex; his children, Joe Hall (Kim), Jamie Rex, Mandy Hall (Allen Threatt IV), Amy Hall (Shawn Willson) and Amber Dickson (Lonnie); his grandchildren, Ryan Hall (Kimmy), Emily Kanaly (Tyler), Sam Hall, Shania Bergeron (Megan), Veronica Pardo (Arthur Daniels Jr), Jossie Hall (Thomas Lewis) of Sarah Travis, Danny Honn, Adaline Honn, Kade David Honn, Malik Dickson and Mackell Dickson; his great grandchildren, Kensley Lewis, Henry Hall, Issac Bergeron, Patrick Kelly Jr. and Layla Saunsoci; and his siblings, Kevin Rex, Robin Steele (Paul) and Lori Rex.
