He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Cowgill and Beulah Cowgill (Strow); his wife Patsy Long; and his sister Joann Burris. He is survived by: his grandson Chris (Cindy McCormick); his nephew Tony Cypert; his niece Stormy Rodgers; his cousin Susie Baker; his great grandchildren, Oliver McCormick of Broadway, NC, Cameron McCormick, Kelsey McCormick (Brent Lynch) of Broadway, NC, Scarlett Lynch and Ronnie Lynch; and also Liam Fore of Spring Lake, NC.
Memorials in J.W. name may be to the American Cancer Society, or the Woodring Wall of Honor with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
