He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Kness and Lavina Kness (Ralston); his son James Andrew, Jr.; and his brothers, George, Joel and Jessie.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Yvonne Hancock (Bonnie); his children, Jerry of Mansfield, TX, Lenee Milam (Tim) of Waukomis and Mark of Kingfisher; and his sister Jeannie Terrell of Custer City. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
