He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Dodson and Geraldine Dodson (Kleck); and his siblings, William Morris Dodson Jr. and Marilyn Wanda Dodson. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Dodson; his sons, Bill Dodson (Sandy), Robert Dodson (Trisha) and James Dodson (Hillary); his grandchildren, Brittany, Dakota, Tyler, Sarah, Joshua, Jaron, Kristen, Jaiden, Kassidy and Jace; and his brothers, Jerry Dodson (Margie) of Enid, Wesley Dodson of Chickasha, OK and Clifford Dodson (Janice) of Cameron, NC.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Memorial contributions in Herbert's name may be made to the DAV, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
