He was predeceased by: his parents, Joy Willson and Ruth Willson (Brogdon); his wife Doris Peters; and his son Danny Peters. He is survived by: his son Gilbert Willson Jr. (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Destiny, Gilbert III and Nayomie; his great grandchildren, Zoey, Anastasia and Ivy; and his daughter-in-law Darla Peters of Enid.
