He was predeceased by: his daughter Janice Kay Pettyjohn; his stepgrandson Tyler Barnes; and his brother Don Briggs (Gerdell). He is survived by: his former wife Lydia Ann Boone; his wife Shirley M. Hess; his children, Sherri Stetnish (James) of Noblesville, IN and Steve Briggs (Cheryl) of Enid; his stepdaughters, Christi Deroin of Enid, Becky Barnes (Marty) of Oklahoma City and Sherri Blalock (Mike) of Joplin, MO; and his brother Ollie Briggs (Ann). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren.
