She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland James and Thelma James (Derr); her husband Richard Szczepaniak; and her children, Brad and Angela.

She is survived by: her granddaughter Lillian Kendall. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Brad and Angela Szczepaniak Nursing Scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
