He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis "Orly" and Lora Lee Thornton (Davis); and his son Daryl Lynn Thornton. He is survived by: his sons, Chris Thornton (Jeanne) of Hickman, NE and Greg Thornton of McKinney, TX; his stepchildren, Larry Rice (Jessica) of Enid, Terry Rice (Lynette) of Ringwood, OK, Shelli Maupin of Enid and Scott Maupin of Tampa, FL.; his grandchildren, Braden (Caroline Thornton), Jessica Thornton, Emily (Dan Bontrager), Alyssa (Ben Weber), Taylor Thornton, Shayni Rice, Paxton (Rowan Rice) and Evan (Blake Maupin); and his siblings, Bill Thornton (Glenda), DeAnne Trolllinger (Larry) and Mary Ellis (Lyndle). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
