He was predeceased by: his parents, James Luke and Ollie Ethel Atkinson; his son James; and his brother-in-law Chris Wray. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lucille Wray; his former wife Rosemary Blakey; his daughters, Sarah Atkinson, MD and Mary Beth Stephens; his brother-in-law Bobby Blakey (Donna); his niece Becky Wooster; his nephew Greg Blakey; his siblings-in-law, Alan Wray (Vanessa), Diana Farrell (Mike) and Rockye Wray; his nephews, Bennett, Weston and George; his niece Anna Lee; and his cousin Janie Wiltshire.
