He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Dean; his children, Patrick Herring of Amarillo, Texas and Crissy Reed (Greg); his grandchildren, Payton Herring (River), Shelby Ballard (Austin) of Walters, Amber Craig (David) of Sayre and Houston Dean (Kaylan) of Frederick; and his great grandchildren, Braylon Herring, Bodie Craig, Cooper, Cody and Kimber Ballard.
