He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Shackelford and Ola Shackelford (McDaniel); and his siblings, Kenneth Shackelford, Charlene Smith (Shackelford) and Fayerene Shackelford.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Shackelford (Dawson); his children, Jim Shackelford of Salem and April (Delton Ulrich) of Elk City; and his grandchildren, Bracken of Elk City and Kazlyn Ulrich of Elk City. He is also survived by his family and friends.
