He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Smith and Florence Riddle Smith; and his siblings, Eugene, Clifton, Charles, Rufus, Melvin Jr., Violet McMullin, Betty Bullard and Barbara Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Margot; his child Laverne Smith Potter (Greg) of California; his grandchildren, William and Lynlee Davies; his children, Piper (Kira) and Glenda Dris of Duncan; his grandson Michael (Julia); his sons, Robert (Rene) of Florida and Adam; his sister Patsy Tillery; and also, Sebastian, Eva, Emily, Aiden, Amber, Bryce, Cody, Justin, Eliana, Pierce and Patsy Tillery.
