He is survived by: his wife Melba Jean; his daughter Sherry (Lynn Compton) of Platte City, MO; and his daughter-in-law Cheryl Abner of Roanoke, VA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
