On March 4th, 2025, Phillip D Goodson age 76 years old went to be with our Lord. He passed quietly in his sleep after suffering from pancreatic cancer. Phillip was born on January 24th, 1949, in Neodesha, Ks. He is a graduate of Independence High School and Indiana University South Bend with a Bachelor of Arts Degree
Phillip is survived by Jack Goodson, his brother, Edmond, OK, a niece, Jennifer Goodson, Denver, Co. and nephew, Joseph Goodson, Nanjing, China. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack W. Goodson and his mother Alecia Alvelo Goodson, Independence Ks.
Sgt Phillip D. Goodson was a patriot and a war hero in the Vietnam War. He earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for Valor.

In 2000 Phil quit his job in Texas as Regional Sales Supervisor for Solaray Corporation to become a full-time caregiver for our parents for 11 years before their passing. Phil was such a caring and compassionate son. He was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Phil loved music and he would jam with his friend in his man cave. He had a large collection of guitars, fiddles, and a banjo. To his friend he was known as Keek. He was a quiet and gentle soul who loved pets. He had 5 cats, Boomer, Kaboom, Quatro, Cinco, and Kitty.
Phil was an avid golfer and loved to play competitive golf with his brother, Jack.
A memorial grave site service will be announced later at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Ks.
