It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jim Ames of Edmond, Oklahoma, born in Thomas, Oklahoma, who passed away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Ames and Bertha Ames (Haggard); his wife Eileen Helzer; and his brother Alvin Eugene Ames. He is survived by: his children, Linda (Tom Russell), Mark (Tonda Ames) and Craig (Avi DeTurenne); his grandsons, Rusty (Julie Moore), Jeremy Moore of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Tyler Ames of Oklahoma City; his great grandchildren, Kinsley (Hunter Likavec), Calton Moore of Thomas, Violet Moore of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Tucker Moore of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and his great great grandchild Stetson Avery Likavec of West Branch, Michigan. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Thomas, 217 N 6th St, Thomas, OK 73669; or to the Thomas Masonic Lodge, 121 N. Main St., Thomas, OK 73669.
