He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Lee and Velma Jean Nelson; and his sister Kathy Ponton. He is survived by: his wife Donna Dunn Nelson; his children, Rowdy Nelson of Knopp-Labach and Patricia Grimm of Nashville; his nieces, Randi Helget of Ottawa and Bailey Leland of Olathe; his grandchildren, Campbell and Ethan Grimm of Nashville; and his friend Morris Nelson of Marquette. He is also survived by three great nieces, and three great nephews.
