He was predeceased by: his siblings, William Leon Mattheyer and Bobba Ann Wilson. He is survived by: his children, John "Jaybird" Mattheyer (Pam) of Davenport, Nancy Prock of Davenport, Eddie Mattheyer (Christie) of Davenport, Malcolm Mattheyer (Teena) of Chandler, Wes Mattheyer (Staci) of Davenport and Murray Johnson of Stroud; and his siblings, Joyce Ann Seelig of Chandler and Prentice Gene Mattheyer of Earlsboro. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.
