He was predeceased by: his wife Freda; his parent Gail Peters; and his siblings, Claud, Carl, Doyle Bill, Bob, George Peters and Maurine Berry.
He is survived by: his children, James Richard "Jim" Peters (Carolyn) of Shawnee and Deborah McClendon (Mike) of Shawnee; his sister Corine Chrz (Bill) of Perry; and his brother-in-law Charley Ballou (Brenda) of Tecumseh. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pottawatomie County Historical Museum.
