He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jess Cox and Mattie Elizabeth Cox (Kerns); his wife Shirley Marie LaFave; his siblings, J. D., L. C. and Velma Layman; and his children, Ray Terrel (Leah) of Heavner, Billy Dean (June) of Weleetka, Travis Don of Lamar, Kathryn Marie Gray of Dustin, Wesley Joe (Linda) of Pharoah and Caroline Elizabeth VanMeter (Monty) of Dustin. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
