He was predeceased by: his stepfather Alvin Montgomery; his stepsister Leanne Kendrick; and his grandparents, George (Buster), Maudie Dunegan, Ira and Marion West.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Perez Dunegan; his children, Ashley Dunegan, Michelle Dunegan of Garland, TX and Westley H. Dunegan of Rowlett, TX; his parents, Ruth West Montgomery of Garland, TX and James Dunegan (Sandra) of Calera, OK; his siblings, Steve Dunegan (Pam) of Mesquite, TX, Lori Miller (Doug) of Clio, MI and Tammy Dunegan of Connerville, OK; his stepbrother Curtis Montgomery; his granddaughters, Isabella Dunegan and Janie Williams; his nieces and nephews, Brittany Choi, Jerrica Miller, Jacob Dunegan and Dillon Miller; his aunt Winnie Fox; and his cousins, Karen John and Eric Minyard.
