He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Brister and Maydell (Bell). He is survived by: his wife Kathy Brister (Newton); his sons, James Brister (Shawna) of Cartwright, OK and Ray Brister (William) of Apopka, FL.; his brothers, W. J. Brister of Mead, OK and Jerry Brister (Tina) of Durant, OK; and his grandchildren, Andrew Strickland of Colorado Springs, CO, Jessica Salinas (Memo) and Heather Ingram of Durant, OK. He is also survived by four loving great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews.
