He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Ray and Laura Clara Ownbey (Hinther); his parents-in-law, Ivan and Mabel Zinn; his siblings, Martha Ownbey, Betty Ownbey and Billy Ownbey; his siblings-in-law, Gay Zinn and Jack Wirtz; and his grandson John Michael.

He is survived by: his wife Vera Marie Ownbey (Zinn); his daughters, Carolyn Holloran (Jim) of Oklahoma City and Marilyn Mackey (Rick) of Durant, Oklahoma; his sister Bertha Mae Wirtz of Austin, Texas; his brother-in-law Archie Zinn of Buffalo, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Derick Covington (Margaret) of Spring, Lucas Covington (Molly) of Albuquerque, Eric Covington (Melissa) of Yukon, Brett Hayes (Kila) of Kingston, Jason Mackey (Michelle) of Durant, Aaron Mackey (Dani) of Durant, Oklahoma and Teresa Golden (Jason) of Kingston, Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, Hayley, Joey, Sydney, Katie, John, Grace, Aubrey, Bryce, Jared, Jase, Jasey, Jolie, Jacoby, Ian and Jake; and his great great grandchildren, Aloura, Lincoln, Roman, Brooks and Jensen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
