He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Berkant III of Fort Worth and Stephen Berkant of Fort Worth; his mother Helen Berkant of San Antonio; and his sisters, Diana Davault of Alba, Brenda Woolfolk of Colorado Springs and Annette Huber of Dayton.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church, 223 N. 5th, Durant, Oklahoma 74701.
