He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Ammons and Lola Mae Ammons (Price); and his siblings, Roxie Parks, Lee, J. C., Dorothy Parker, Dockie and Susie Cates.

He is survived by: his wife Cleta Jo Ammons (Crossland); his children, Courtney Ammons Freese of Durant and Cary Ammons of Talihina, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Chaney Freese, Cady Ammons, Cy Ammons and Case Ammons; and his siblings, Syble Franklin, Maxine Franklin, Mack and Bill Ammons. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
