It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Joe Phillips (Durant, Oklahoma), who passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Phillips and Mattie Phillips; his brother O. C. Phillips; and his son Joe Richard Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Doris Phillips; his children, Robbie Lynn Phillips-Dudley, Billy Ross Phillips (Rita), Stella Phillips McCarley, Don Littrell of Eufaula, OK, Mike Beagle (Grace) and Chelle Schueneman (Stephen); and his grandchildren, Michelle Torres, Michael McIntire, Tina Phillips-Jennings, Jeffrey Nichols, Rod Laymon, Kim Phillips-Boyd, Amy Laymon, Amanda Phillips-Tomasulo, Regina Phillips, LeeAnn Phillips-Worthy, Amber Phillips Jordan, Matthew Phillips, Aaron Phillips, Joe H. Phillips, Jarret Beagle, Megan Gandy and Colby Schueneman. He is also survived by his 38 great-grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home (121 N 5th Ave, Durant, OK 74701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bokchito Cemetery.
