She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Douglas and Flora Marion Douglas (Marsh); and her sister Virginia Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Lawrence Roy Ross; her children, Alan, Susan K. Ross of Marlow, Ala, Beverly A. Newsom of Bethany, Pamela J. (Rick Kunc) of Cumming, GA and Vicki L. Wheeless (Don Shaw) of Tempe, AZ; her grandchildren, Laurie Crow (Ron South), Rachel Sigman, Michael Ross, Sarah Newsom, Patrick Kunc, Laura Ellyn (James Headley), Audrey Elizabeth (Austin Brooks) and Ross Elliot Wheeless; her great grandchildren, Kassie, Kendall Phillips, Alixzandrea, Jacob, Willow, Olivia Sigman, Iszzy Newsom, Aurora and Juanito Figueroa-Newsom; and her siblings, Gaylon Paynter of Eugene, OR, Elvin Paynter of Salem, Oregon, Anita Uland of Lewisburg, TN, Twyla Paynter and Coreen Walters of Salem, OR. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marlow Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home in Denton, TX, and St. Judes Children Hospital.
