He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Mitchell and Gladys Mitchell (Holbrook); and his brothers, Leo, Dennis and James Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Opal Karen Waitman; his children, Carlton Delano "Chip" Mitchell II of Duncan, Opal Karen Boyer of Duncan, Tony Leo Mitchell (Anita) of Comanche and Rocky Wayne Mitchell of Duncan; his grandchildren, Destry Mitchell, Dustin Mitchell, Brookelyn Lock, Amanda Branch, Jordan Boyer, Haley McCormack, Trinity Lewis, Stony Mitchell, Canyon Mitchell, Bree Mitchell and Brody Mitchell; and his brother Aaron Mitchell (Bonnie) of Florida. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whitt Funeral Home (4748 US-81, Duncan, OK 73533). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Addington Baptist Church (402 2nd St, Addington, OK 73520). A burial was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at the TBD Fairlawn Cemetery.
