He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas and Evelyn Mary Barbee (Freymuth); his siblings, James, Lawrence, Daniel, Thomas, David, Clarence, Lucy Ann and Clare Ponder; and his granddaughter Shelby Barbee.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Barbee, T. J. Barbee, Jennifer, Pete Barbee, Mary Bates and Scott; his siblings, Donald, Christopher, Loretta Dayer, Jane Barbee, Marie Lewis and Dorothy Wood; and his grandchildren, Jazmine, Hannah, Shay, Sarah, A. J., Payten, Taylor, Abby, Trinity, Malakai and Josiah. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
