Merle left this world on May 25, 2024 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle E. Palmer and Betty L. Palmer (Mayne); and his brother Martin Palmer (Lynn). He is survived by: his daughter Tona Wood of Dewey; his grandchildren, Kiara Wood of Richardson, TX and Collin Wood of Choctaw, OK; and his siblings, Larry [Diane] Palmer of Dewey and Kathy VonCannon of Coffeyville, KS. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Legion or St. Jude's Children's Research.
