He was predeceased by: his parent Marie Hamlin; his siblings, Margaret, Florence, Dorothy, Elnora, Thelma, Patricia, Jeanetta, Roland (Bus), Bill, Max and Wiley Gene; his son-in-law Michael Montgomery; and his grandson Jimmy Don "Bronc" Harrington II.
He is survived by: his spouse Gloria "Gordy" Hamlin (Clifford); his brother Sam Hamlin; his sister-in-law Jacqueline "Jackie" Clifford; and his children, Traci Austin, Jimmy Dean Hamlin and John Hamlin. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; numerous beloved nieces and nephews and more friends.
