He was predeceased by : his parents, Bruce R. Johnston and Lillian B. Johnston (Towery); his sisters, Virginia Hendricks and Mary Sue Edwards; his former life partner Imogene Johnston; his nephew Fred; and his niece Julie McGee.

He is survived by : his wife Twylah B. Johnston; his daughter Amber Arnce of Cushing; his granddaughters, Ashlynn and Tatum Arnce of Cushing; and his nieces, Jennifer (Earl Horner) and Jamie Sue Richards of Perkins. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Euchee Valley Memorial Park (505 N Euchee Valley Rd, Cushing, OK 74023).
