He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Heppel and Christel Heppel (Petty); and his siblings, Leslie Heppel, Jerry Heppel, Naomi Bode, Donald Heppel, Daniel Heppel and Jimmy Heppel.

He is survived by : his wife Cindy Johnson; his children, Monte Heppel (Stephanie), Chuck Heppel, Toby Heppel (Suzy), Nikki Gillespie (Jason Floyd) and Kyle Heppel (Ben); and his grandchildren, April Hughes (Justin), Ryan Heppel (Karli), Shaun Heppel, Maci Graves (Steven), Turner Heppel, Christian Heppel, Maggie Heppel, Catie Heppel and Cody Heppel. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
